If a death has occurred, please call Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care, Inc. to receive the information, guidance and support that you need. Even if there has been no death, we encourage you to contact us to pre-plan your funeral. This will give you the time to look into the merchandise and services that we offer and make your selections. We offer our pre-planning clients the opportunity to purchase markers, monuments and/or inscriptions at a reasonable price. We are the first funeral home in the area to feature monument services for all cemeteries in the community. If you live in the Potomac, MD community, pease consider us when seeking to obtain the monument for your loved one, even if you have used another funeral home for the initial services.
If you have decided to be cremated, pre-planning is an excellent choice because you can ensure that your wishes are followed. If the decision to cremate is made after the passing, a signature from the spouse granting permission is legally required. In cases where there is no surviving spouse, all the children of the deceased must sign their approval.
For those who would like to hold a chapel service or memorial service in their temple, we have rental contracts with over 20 temples in the Maryland/Washington DC/Virginia area and that list is growing. If your temple is not one that we have an agreement with, please inform us of this so that we can try our best to hold the services there.
Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care, Inc. proudly serves the Jewish community and is aware of their traditions. We offer the service of having a “shomer” or guardian stay with the body at all times, since according to Jewish customs a Jewish body must be attended from the moment of death until the time of burial.
We also offer our services to those of other faiths and to those who would prefer a more secular service. Traditional funeral services still provide comfort to many, and include a visitation or wake with an open or closed casket. If the loved one is to be buried after the funeral, there is a brief interment service at the gravesite. If it is requested, we can provide a motorcycle hearse or a horse-drawn carriage to transport your loved one. More modern ceremonies can be held in the home,
