Anita Katz Obituary
Anita (Shapiro) Katz of Silver Spring, Md., passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, peacefully at home. Funeral service will be held on May 18 at 11 a.m. at Judean Memorial Gardens Chapel with interment to follow. The family will receive guests after the service and sit shiva on Thursday evening at the home of Donna and Leonard Wartofsky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hope Connections for Cancer.
"Nini", as she was affectionately known by her five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, was the wife of the late Albert Katz. She is survived by her sons Fulton and his wife, Chere, and Gene and his wife Rita; grandchildren Jodi Barr, Josh Katz, Seth Katz, Tami Katz and Jaime McKenna.
She was born and raised in Washington among many close relatives and friends. She lived the life she wanted to, which included regular trips to play slot machines, weekly mahjong games and family dinners, and proudly driving her car sporting an American flag until her final days.
