On Monday, September 28, 2015, Howard M. Bender of Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband of the late Sondra D. Bender; devoted father of Barbara Bender, Julie (David) Silver, Eileen (Richard) Greenberg and David (Nan) Bender; loving brother of Morton Bender and the late Stanley Bender; dear grandfather of Sarah and Diana Bender Bier, Gabriella Bender Laskow, Jason (Michelle) Belinkie, Jena (Chris) Riley, Nikki (Jason) Cole, Josh (Adriane) Greenberg, Rachael Greenberg, Daniel Greenberg, Jake Bender, Ross Bender and great-grandfather of Jackson Greenberg, Siena Belinkie and Blake Riley. Funeral service will be on Thursday, October 1, 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Beth El, 8215 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814. Interment King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. Family will be receiving friends immediately following the funeral and Shiva with Minyan services will be Thursday evening and Friday morning at the late residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the JCC of Greater Washington "Sondra and Howard Bender Early Childhood Center" or Jewish Social Services or Jewish Foundation for Group Homes.
