Ruth Bassin Obituary
On August 21, 2016, Ruth Bassin passed away from Alzheimer's disease. Beloved wife of the late Aaron (Addy) Bassin. Devoted mother of Gail Bassin, Barbara Bassin (Stan Appelbaum), and the late Bruce Bassin (Kris Bassin). Cherished grandmother of Jenna Newman (Michael Newman), Bryce Appelbaum (Amanda), Adina Appelbaum (Mauricio Castillo Ferri, Fiance), Ilyse Stempler, Valerie Stempler, Alexis Bassin, Morgan Bassin, Aaron Bassin and three great grandchildren: Jax Appelbaum, Tori Appelbaum, and Porter Newman and many nieces and nephews, and their familes. Ruth was lovingly cared for by Elvi Rabe. She also leaves behind adored MacArthur Beverages staff and life-long friends.
Funeral services will be held at Washington Hebrew at noon on Wednesday, August 24, located at 3935 Macomb Street NW, Washington DC 20016 with burial at King David's Cemetery located at 7482 Lee Hwy Falls Church, Virginia 22042. The family will be observing Shiva on August 24 and 25, at Ruth Bassin's home, 6116 Clearwood Road, Bethesda, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: the Addy and Bruce Bassin Cancer Memorial Fund at the George Washington University Medical School, Heart's Delight American Heart Association, or USAgainst Alzheimer's disease.
