Ruth Greenspun, 104, a long-time resident of the Washington area, died November 5, 2014 at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. Born in Grodno, Poland, Ms. Greenspun came to the U.S. as a child and grew up in the New York area. During World War II she was a court stenographer for the JAG Corps at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. She later worked for many years as an administrator at the National Institute of Mental Health. She was a much beloved Yiddish teacher in the area and was active in the Hadassah program at Leisure World in Olney.Ms. Greenspun was married for 40 years to Hyman Greenspun who died in 1985. She leaves behind two sons, Robert and Mark, both of the local area. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name can be made to Hadassah. Services private. -
