Steven Browne
May 30, 1944 – July 28, 2019 (age 75)
Steven Mark Browne, of Brookeville, Md., and Bluefields, Jamaica, passed away on July 28, 2019, following a sudden, brief illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Linda Browne; his children, Elise (& Craig) Hughes and Hali (& Eric) London; his grandchildren, Noah & Ethan Hughes and Ellis, Madison & Natalie London; and a large community of extended family and friends in the U.S. and Jamaica.
Steve was born in Washington, D.C., in 1944, the son of Richard & Claire Browne. An entrepreneur and technical wizard, he built a highly respected security business that he only recently retired from. He was a dedicated member of the Rotary Clubs of Olney (Md.) and Savannah la Mar (Jamaica), serving as president of the Olney chapter of the international service club. His greatest accomplishment, however, was the incredible impact he had on everyone who knew him; with his open mind and generous spirit, he cultivated friendships everywhere he went.
Memorial service will be held at Kol Shalom, 9110 Darnestown Rd, Rockville, Md., on Friday, August 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. Shiva will be observed at the home of Hali & Eric London in Bethesda, Md., on Friday following the service until 6 p.m.; on Saturday, 3-6 p.m.; and on Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice; organizations devoted to assisting individuals gain employment and employment skills would be especially appropriate.
