ESTHER HAAR
On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, Esther Haar of Bethesda, MD passed away. Born in New York City in 1928, she attended Hunter College and became a beloved teacher in Montgomery County public schools. She was married to Lester Haar until his death in 1990. Together they traveled the world, enjoyed music and theater, and above all, cherished their family and many dear friends. She is survived by her second husband Bernard Hildebrand; two sons, Michael (Therese) Haar and Robert (Robin) Haar; her daughter, Cheryl Haar (Thomas Arledge); her grandchildren, Brian, Daniel, Patrick, Lucy, and Benjamin. Through Bernard, she became devoted to her step-daughters, Debi (Roger) Lebbin and Joanne (John) Byrnes; grandchildren, Daniel (Erin), Andrea (Michael), and Jack; and great grandchildren, Ellie, Samuel, Claire, Trey, and Tessa. All who knew Esther treasured her kindness, compassion, and happy nature. She will be greatly missed. Services are 12 noon Sunday November 27, 2016 graveside at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA.
