A lifelong resident of the Washington, D.C. area, Frances Brott died peacefully in her sleep, with her two beloved daughters, Dianne and Leslie at her side. Mrs. Brott's two great uncles founded Kahn-Oppenheimer optician and jewelry store on F Street in Washington and Frances worked there with her parents, husband, and other relatives later in life. Frances loved theater, all things New York, was a competitive award-winning dancer in her youth. She made friends wherever she went from early life in DC to cherished time in Chicago with her husband, Harry Brott, during the war and then back to D.C. and suburban Maryland where she raised her family, to Leisure World. She was an active participant in Hadassah and traveled locally and around the world. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Harry, her parents Isadore and Esther Kleinhaus Kahn, and her adored sister Gertrude Kahn Auerbach all of whom she missed dearly and spoke of often. She cherished her family and is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Apter and Leslie Brott, two granddaughters Jennie (Matt) and Rachel (Dion) and two great-grandaughters, Eliana and Lauren, who she loved hearing about and getting to visit, as well as several nieces and nephews. She took great pride in being the matriarch of a family of strong girls and women. She enjoyed playing canasta and mahjong with her friends.
