After a long and full life, Frieda Scharf Horowitz, 98, of Pompano Beach, FL, died at home on March 3, 2018. Frieda was born in 1920 to Isadore and Dena Scharf. She married Eugene Horowitz in 1941, and they were married until his death in 1978. Frieda was devoted to those she loved, and she had the gift of making us feel important, interesting, hilariously funny, and always adored. She spent her life learning and making beautiful things with her hands. She was an excellent cook, and it was well known that feeding people was one of her greatest joys. Those of us she left behind wonder how we can end each day without a long, heartfelt talk with her. She leaves an empty space in this world that can never be filled, and our memories of her warmth, humor, and kindness will have to do. Her family and friends feel so lucky to have had the great gift of knowing her. Frieda is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Donald), Barbara, and Linda; grandchildren Roz, Andy, David, and Robert; great-grandchildren Thomas, Emily, Ada, William, and Richard; and her sister Dorothy. She is predeceased by her husband Eugene; her siblings Jack, Bertha, Lou, Sunky, and Esther; and by her grandson Gary. A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 11:00am at Judean Memorial Gardens.
