He graduated from Baltimore City College in 1949, and was later honored by the school. He graduated with a business degree from the University of Maryland, and joined the Air Force soon after. Upon completing service, he joined his family's firm, Textilease Corporation, where he rose to be president. This was one of the greatest joys of his life. He also found time to complete an MBA and PHD in business. He served as president of the industrial laundry association, and dedicated his life to several Jewish charities.
In 2003, he sold Textilease. In his retirement, he spent most of his time in Vail CO, skiing, biking, and playing tennis.
He was a devoted father and grandfather, taking his children and grandchildren on many overseas trips.
