Lenore Kuptzin Obituary
Lenore Pluss Kuptzin, beloved wife of the late Harold Kuptzin, died peacefully on January 18, 2017, surrounded by her devoted daughters and son in law, Michelle Kuptzin, Janis Fagan and Bruce Fagan. Lenore was the cherished grandmother of Michael and Melissa Fagan, in whose accomplishments she took tremendous pride, and an adored aunt, great aunt and cousin. She is survived by many wonderful and loving friends spanning from her early childhood in Brooklyn to retirement in Leisure World.
While raising her family, Lenore worked part-time with the local school system and enjoyed participating in the education of young elementary school children. Lenore and Harry shared a passion for traveling and learning, venturing around the globe. Upon retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Florida, playing golf and tennis with a wide circle of friends and relatives. They traveled frequently to San Diego to play games, share ice cream sundaes, and enjoy their grandchildrens' many interests and activities. At home in Leisure World, Lenore was an active volunteer who relished participating in new adventures and meeting new people. She enjoyed bridge, canasta, mahjong, reading, watching Jeopardy and old movies, and spending time with loved ones and animals. Lenore was the embodiment of warmth, grace, optimism and wit. Her home was open to all, filled with pictures and mementos of loving family and friends. As she said to the very end, "I have had a great life!" She will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday January 22, 2017, at the Judean Memorial Gardens Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD. Interment to follow. The family will be receiving friends in the Social Room of The Greens Building Two after the interment until 4 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lenore's memory to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, P.O. Box 97166, Washington DC 20090-7166, or The Fresh Air Fund, 633 Third Avenue, 14th Floor, New York NY 10017.
