Margot Heckman Obituary
Margot Heckman, beloved mother of Eric Heckman (Fawn Donna) and Carey Heckman, born May 12, 1930 in Washington DC and resided in Bethesda, Md. Margot was especially devoted to her grandsons Samuel Heckman and Ronnie Heckman. She was an Interior Decorator and Manufacturer's Rep, specializing in accessories, art and fine furniture. She was an active member of IFDA serving on the Board as well as chairing numerous committees. Margot was devoted to Jewish religious entities and charities. She was a long time member and volunteer at Washington Hebrew Congregation, and active participant in educational programs at AISH of Greater Washington. Margot was a past President of Independence Chapter Binai Brith Women, Reg Chair BBYO, BBG Advisor. She served on the Boards of Women's Division of Israeli Bonds, Washington Jewish Historical Society and Aleph Bet Montessori School. Margot was a life member of Hadassah and Chaired Reg Conf Brandeis Women's Library Com.
Funeral Services at Washington Hebrew, 3925 Macomb St, NW on Tuesday August 19 at 1:00 PM. Burial at Garden of Remembrance followed by Shiva and a Celebration of her Life at Heckman's Delicatessen, 4914 Cordell Ave, Bethesda. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her memory to the Washington Hebrew Cantorial Fund or The Washington Jewish Historical Society.
