Pauline (Berman) Barclay, 80, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 15, 2016, after a ten-year struggle with Lewy-Body, a form of dementia. Her son, Michael Berman, was at her side. She was born on September 22, 1935 in Washington, DC. Pauline spent 30+ years working in government positions, including many years with the Food and Drug Administration. She was a long-time, active member of B''nai B''rith Women of Washington, DC. A caring person, she gave her time to district hospitals, holding new-born babies and helping during major holidays; she was also involved in a "big-sister'' organization, spending time with less fortunate children. She is predeceased by her first husband, George Berman (2000) and second husband, Alton Barclay (2004).
Pauline is survived by son, Michael and his daughter, Lauren Berman of Linwood, NJ; daughter, Janice Berman and her son Mitchell Levinson, of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Deanna Shoob in Tuscon Arizonia and Beverly (Mike) Stern, in Rockville, MD, as well as many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 20, 11 a.m. in the chapel at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD. Reception immediately following interment. Shiva will be observed, 7 p.m. at the home of Beverly and Mike Stern.
