Sidney Coplon Obituary
On Thursday, August 23, 2018 of Wheaton, MD. Caring husband of the late Doris Coplon; Father of Steve Coplon(Donna), Dee (Robert) Weiss and Arlene (Robert) Permisohn; Grandfather to nine grandchildren Kara Permisohn, Kelly McLaughlin, Kristy Permisohn, Kevin (Angie) Permisohn, Andrew (Stacie) Coplon, Lindsey (Will) Simms, Josh Coplon, Jennifer Weiss, David Weiss; 5 great grandchildren Conor McLaughlin, Ciaran McLaughlin, Eric Permisohn, Brooke Permisohn, Hailey Permisohn and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 26, 2:00 p.m. at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042. Family will be observing shiva/receiving friends at the home of Arlene and Robert Permisohn 15101 Whitegate Road, Silver Spring, 20905 on Sunday August 26, starting at 4:30pm and on Monday August 27, starting at 6pm and then move to the home of Dee and Robert Weiss 13204 Lantern Hollow Drive, North Potomac, 20878 on Tuesday August 28, starting at 6pm and Wednesday and Thursday, August 29-30, starting at 3pm. Services will be held each night at 7:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Hospital Hospice, 10720 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
A veteran of World War II, Sidney was also a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent his career mostly at the Naval Yard, Vitro and the US Postal Service.
