Abraham "Ari" Pieniek, 90 years old of Frederick, Maryland passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Born on August 24, 1933 in Brussels, Belgium, he was raised in Quito, Ecuador, long time resident of Olney, Maryland and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He was a retired avionics communications engineer who worked for Pan American Airlines, Amtrak Train and Mitre Corporation.  He was an avid volunteer while living in South Carolina at the Horry County Library and the Myrtle Beach Airport.

Ari was the son of the late Joseph and Chasza Jaroszewska Pieniek. He was the husband of the late Iris Selma Finkel Pieniek and the father of the late Marc David Pieniek. He is the younger brother of Rosmari Pieniek Prutchi and the older brother of the late Wladimiro Pieniek. Ari is survived by his daughter Lisa Pieniek Stickley and husband Keith, his 3 grandsons Jared Stickley (Titus), Mason Stickley (Ashley) and Shane Stickley and 2 great grandsons Asa and Keith Stickley.

Ari will be remembered for his warped sense of humor, his kind and generous heart, his love of dancing, sports and of all animals.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024, 1 pm, at Judean Chapel 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd., Olney, MD 20832. Burial to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens.  The Family will be sitting Shiva Sunday to Tuesday 4-8 pm at the residence of Lisa and Keith Stickley.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to an Alzheimer's foundation of your choice.
