On Monday, January 18, 2021, Dr. Allan Schwartzberg, born in Cleveland, Ohio, residing in Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away from complications of Dementia. He was 90. Beloved husband of the late Katherine Weiss Schwartzberg; devoted father of Shana Irene Schwartzberg Brayton (Jonathan Brayton) and Robert Michael Schwartzberg (Sandra Yampell); loving brother of the late Arlene Angell of Cleveland, Ohio; cherished grandfather of Eli Brayton and Ruby Brayton. Also survived by nephews Alan Angell (Beth), Steve Weiss (Ann), and nieces Linda Benjamin (Rodney), Darcy Angell (Paul), Doe Weiss, and Andrea Weiss.

Professional accomplishments included serving as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Suburban Hospital, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University, Visiting Professor at Harvard Medical School and Captain, United States Air Force.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD 20832. For those not able to join in person, the service will be available via Zoom; please contact the family for service and Shiva details. Memorial contributions may be made to either Birthright Israel Foundation, Jewish National Fund or Washington Hebrew Congregation.
