Anita was married to Amor Lane (Deceased) for 63 years, and was the devoted mother of Bruce Lane (Leslie) and Michele Loewenthal (Abe). Loving sister of the late Paul Tanker of Philadelphia and daughter of the late Albert and Dora Tanker of Margate, New Jersey. She was happiest when she spent time with her large family and friends, reading to and playing catch with the youngsters, cooking for her kids and grandkids and taking them to the movies. She just celebrated her 90th birthday two months ago with 90 of her closest family and friends. Anita was born in Philadelphia and moved to Atlantic City, where she was voted the best female student in the eighth grade and was a top student at Atlantic City High School. She played Basketball and excelled in English and History and was active in a sorority.

After earning a business degree from Temple University, Anita met Amor Lane, who was also from Philadelphia, in Atlantic City, and moved with him to raise her family in Silver Spring, MD. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her kids were in junior high, and then she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager in the catering and technology recruiting industries until she retired at age 75. She was known for her dedication to work and her love for being with people. Her extended family members and friends remember her genuine interest in their well-being, warm smile, sense of humor, and upbeat attitude. She loved traveling around the world and attending concerts and the opera at the Kennedy Center and Washington Commanders games. She was known as the "walker" in her North Bethesda neighborhood, as she was constantly taking long walks and going to the gym every day.
