On February 8, 2023, Armand Silon of Bowie and Frederick, Maryland passed away with his family by his side. Loving husband of Betty Silon, father of Claudia Silon, Gabrielle Kaufman (Robb Baker), Yale Silon (Kristin Silon), and grandfather to Daniel Kaufman and Brian Kaufman.

After graduating from Columbia University, Armand met his beloved wife and they have been married for 63 years. They moved to the Washington, DC area so that he could take a job with the Internal Revenue Service as a trainee. Armand followed an entrepreneurial path and started a consulting firm with two partners, and continued in consulting until retirement where he helped to develop training programs and conduct research in the areas of government contracting procurement, women in apprenticeship, AIDS, Head Start, and drug abuse and treatment. He was a man of many interests. He was a great cook, a wine aficionado, an avid reader, a movie buff, a lover of classical music, a daily jeopardy fan, and enjoyed watching horse racing.

The family will have a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association at Heart.org .
