On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Arthur Hartstein, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away. Beloved husband of Geri Elias and the late Marlene Hartstein; proud father of Bonnie (Gal) Hartstein Shweiki and Diana (Peter) Beinart and loving stepfather of Andy (Debbie Curtis) Elias and Kenny (Risa) Elias; cherished grandfather of Jacqueline, Ezra, Naomi, Aimee, Anya, Jake, and Alex. Born in 1940, Arthur graduated from Brooklyn Polytech, earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Adelphi University and spent his career at the Department of Energy creating policy for oil shale, petroleum and natural gas. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves, Corps of Engineers. Art was an avid bridge player. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. LTC (Ret.) Hartstein will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation ( fisherhouse.org ).
