On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Arthur passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children in Washington, DC. He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Edith Hillman and his brother, Daniel (Mary Ellen). Arthur was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Minette Walker Hillman; and his three cherished children, Todd (Deborah), Michael (Pam), and Liz (Gary) and his prized four grandchildren Matthew (Samara), Benjamin (Jaclyn), Adam, and Charles Hillman. He is also survived by his devoted nephew Jimmy (Deena).

Arthur was born in Chicago, IL on December 8, 1928, and was raised in Milwaukee, WI.  He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University and a master's of law from George Washington University. He proudly served in the Navy in World War II.

He began his career as a lawyer with General Electric (GE) in Washington, DC, and then moved to New York to become general counsel for one of the first real estate investment trusts created. After five years, he moved back to the DC area and became a sole practitioner working with clients locally and nationally in the real estate business. He was greatly respected and admired by clients, colleagues, and others in the legal and real estate professions. He was also a professor of law at Georgetown University School of Law. He was a mentor to so many and a friend to everyone he encountered.

He was an avid sports enthusiast for DC teams - Washington Bullets (Wizards), Redskins (Commanders) and the Senators (Nationals). He was an accomplished athlete from a very young age making "All City" in Milwaukee for basketball, and was passionate about tennis.

He will be greatly missed for his smile, warm hands, and big heart.
