Barbara Nancy Beran (nee Black), 81, beloved wife of the late Mark J. Beran, died in Rockville, MD on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Barbara graduated from Wellesley College in 1955. She made aliyah with her family to Israel in 1973 and was Director of Research at the Jaffa Mental Health Center. She and Mark moved to Rockville, MD in 2000. Barbara is survived by her three children: Sarah Steinberg (Robert) Rockville, MD, Andrew Beran (Tricia) Scottsdale, AZ, and Emily Landau (Giora) Ra'anana, Israel. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her. Burial in MA, shivah in NY. There will be a memorial service at Kol Shalom (9110 Darnestown Rd, Rockville) at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept 6th. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to American Friends of Magen David Adom.
