On April 23, 2026, Charles Scott Lubin of Olney, MD passed away. He leaves his beloved wife Linda a few months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Devoted father of Jennifer and the late Todd, adoring grandfather to Ryleigh, Austin, and London, loving brother of Nancy and the late Sandra, and the caring uncle to niece Stacey and nephew Matthew.
Charles was the son of Ruth and Sidney Lubin. He grew up in Elmhurst, NY and attended City College of NY, earning a Bachelor of Science. After graduation, he came to Maryland and started a job with the Department of Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock, MD. He attended George Washington University in the evening and earned a Master of Science degree. Later in life, he decided to return to school again, taking evening classes; he was awarded a CPA license in 1988. During tax season, he would meet with clients in the evening to prepare their taxes. After 33 years of dedicated employment with the same agency, he retired.
Family was very important to Charles. For many years, he and Linda would travel several times a year by train to visit Linda’s family in CT. Holidays were very special as were summer trips to Rehoboth Beach. His sister Nancy made many trips to visit her brother as his health began to decline. He enjoyed her visits and was so excited when they both went to Grill Marx restaurant. He was so looking forward to the steak and cheese sandwich! Parkinson’s made a big change in his life; all trips stopped; he moved to Brooke Grove Assisted Living to keep him safe. He bravely fought the disease for over 15 years and lost that battle. He now is at peace.
