On Saturday, January 25, 2025, Dr. Corinne Zupanick of Austin, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Kensington, MD. Devoted mother of Christopher J. Fong and mother-in-law of Elizabeth Heetderks Fong, loving sister of Michael Zupanick, Joseph Zupanick, Paula Iannotta, and Clare Ellis, cherished grandmother of Elise Heetderks-Fong, Peter Fong, and Wesley Fong.

Corinne graduated with a BS in marketing from Penn State University in 1980.  She also earned a doctorate degree (Psy.D) in clinical psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1995.  She enjoyed a long career as a clinical psychologist in the private sector and Federal government.

In life, she always looked for ways to support and lift up others, whether it was in her job at the VA counseling soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan or in the leadership roles she played in her church or the local homeowners' association.  She was a champion of women's rights and was an outspoken advocate and activist for any person or group of people that might have been marginalized.

She excelled at many hobbies including knitting and dog training.  She was especially fond of her Belgian Malinois Zenith and Zane.

She was generous with her money and time, and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, whose day she could always brighten.  She loved reading to them and taking them on special trips.  She will be greatly missed but the positive impact she had on the lives of those around her will surely live on.

Funeral services for immediate family will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St. Andrew the Apostle in Silver Spring, MD.
