Obituary

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, David Loewenstein III of Potomac, Maryland passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He was a native Washingtonian who loved telling stories about his world travels to 88 countries, his time as owner of 27 men’s clothing stores that were located up and down the east coast, playing tennis and golf at Woodmont Country Club, spending precious moments with his seven grandchildren, and sitting at his cherished Steinway grand piano playing the most beautiful and complicated classical compositions. Forever loved and forever missed.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol (Chickie); his children and their spouses Kim (Ian) Band, Kevin (Hilary) Loewenstein, and Dana (Ken) Weinstein; his grandchildren Jolie and Trevor Band, Jade (Xavier) McQuiston and Logan Loewenstein, and Nathaniel, Danica, and Isabella Weinstein; and his sister Louise Allentuck.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 12pm, in the chapel at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park in Clarksburg, MD with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
