On November 6, 2026, Donna Phyllis Geller, 86, passed away surrounded by her family.
Donna was the daughter of the late Arthur and Tessie Zinnamon, sister of the late Marlene Cohen, and spouse of the late Harvey Geller. Donna and Harvey were married for over 46 years. Their marriage brought together 7 children before the birth of their youngest. Their lasting legacy is not only the number of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who survive them but the closeness and love they all share for each other. She is survived by her loving children, Allyson Ger, Jonathan Ger (Dreama), Donald Ger (Susan), and Tammy Geller-Levitt (Andy), she was the beloved stepmother to Margie Geller, Cindy Geller (Pam), Debbie Schick (Greg) and David Geller; her beloved grandchildren, Derek Ger (Blair), Jeremy Ger (Emily), Ben Retik (Lanie), Molly Retik, Dina Retik (Abigail), Rebecca Ger, Oliver Levitt, Emma Levitt, Sam Levitt, Ruby Levitt, Katie King (Deyvi Zamero), Rachel Miller (Jesse), Brad King, Samantha Schick, Tori Geller, Ben Geller, and her great-grandchildren, Mason, Lyla, Hailey, and Hudson Ger, Dylan Zamero, Johnna, Sloane, and Berkley Miller, Hendrix & Ilias King. Aunt and cousin, and a wonderful friend to a close circle of women. She loved her dogs, Archie and Lexi.
A native Washingtonian from a large family, Donna was sweet, smart, and empathetic. She loved animals and enjoyed keeping up with the latest technology. Her family always came first; she was a collector of people and had a way of making everyone she met feel at home.
Later in life, Donna went back to school to earn her Bachelors & master's degrees in social work. She knew she wanted to support those who are suffering. When she graduated, she worked at the Clinical Center at National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she served families of children with cancer. Her example made an impression on her family as they watched her work tirelessly and selflessly on behalf of families facing an unimaginable loss.
She battled lymphoma twice, and through it all she was a warrior, resilient and continuing to enjoy special moments with those around her.
Shiva will be observed for two days at a private residence. There will be an additional Shiva in Boston at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Inn, JSSA, or the ASPCA.
All services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care.
