An accomplished medical writer, she served as president of the American Medical Writers Association mid-Atlantic region, editor in chief of the National Rehabilitation Journal, and vice chair of the People-to-People Committee on Disability. She held leadership positions at the Cosmos Club, the National Press Club, and the Rotary Club of Washington, DC where she was one of the first women to be elected Club President. Doris graduated from DC’s Roosevelt High and George Washington University, from which she won a Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.
Doris was the daughter of the late Samuel and Eva Rosenberg, and wife of the late Judge Lawrence S. Margolis. She is survived by her children Paul Margolis and Jennifer Katz Margolis, Aleta Margolis and Michael Brodsky, and grandchildren Isabel and Mira Margolis Brodsky.
