Passed away of natural causes on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Rockville, MD. Dorothy was born in New York City and married Louis Pollack in 1945 in New York; they were married 72 years. Dorothy had a deep appreciation of music and the arts, and enjoyed knitting, reading and cooking. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as a court transcriber for 20 years. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Louis and three children, Annette (Robert) Rachlin of Greensboro, NC, Barbara Pollack Held of Belmont, MA and Lawrence Pollack of Springfield, VA; her grandchildren, Aaron Held, Jordan Held, Jonathan Held, David Rachlin and Jeffrey Rachlin; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extended their sincere gratitude to her loving caregivers and the Landow House of the Charles E. Smith Life Communities and JSSA Hospice in Rockville, MD. Graveside services 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, MD. The family will receive friends and family at the Pollack residence following the interment.
