Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Allen Meyerson, a man whose vibrant spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and boundless love enriched the lives of all who knew him. Earl leaves behind a legacy of integrity, generosity, and unforgettable stories that will be cherished for generations.

In the 1960s, he established Earl Allen, a thriving women’s clothing business in Georgetown, quickly becoming the go-to clothier for fashion minded women. Earl’s professional success allowed him to expand his retail footprint to include five clothing stores, a Ski and Tennis shop, and the popular restaurant, CR Higgins in Georgetown.

Earl’s vision extended far beyond his personal success; he was very active in the Georgetown community, as a Georgetown resident, property and business owner, and longtime board member of the Georgetown Business Association (GBA). He actively participated in GBA decisions which ensured that Georgetown was a welcoming place and a premier destination for business and commerce.

Earl’s friendships were numerous and spanned decades. His loyalty created incredible bonds that remained a significant and vibrant part of his life all the way to his last breath. This spirited and devoted group still delighted in their friendly, competitive "trash talk" and ribbing, and always included lots of reminiscing about the good old days. Their enduring loyalty is a testament to the man Earl was.

Speaking of loyalty, Earl was a dog’s best friend. His furry family was always treated like royalty, and he was known to throw quite a few dog birthday parties!

Earl’s greatest source of joy was his family. He shared more than 50 beautiful years with his wife Linda, who was the light of his life. They enjoyed traveling together for work and for pleasure, often including the whole family on their domestic and international adventures. He was an immensely proud father to his children, Kelly, Robin, and Bob and loved introducing them to his friends. He was a beloved grandfather to Tony, Vince, Karsten, Christina, Jack, and Ashley. Earl loved sharing stories and imparting wisdom to his grandchildren, providing invaluable life lessons and guidance for their school decisions, relationships, and careers. His legacy of love and advice will live on through them.

Earl Allen Meyerson leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Earl is better off having known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
