Elaine Miriam Berger Moses of Rockville, MD, passed away March 4, 2024, at age 88, in her home at Ingleside at King Farm.

She was born November 5, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, to Helen and Adolph Berger. Elaine and her brothers, Larry and Stanley, grew up first in Brooklyn, then in Washington, DC. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1953.

Elaine hoped to attend college, but instead won a scholarship to secretarial school. She worked in, and managed, several offices throughout her career, and was an early adopter of word processing and desktop publishing.

Elaine met Leroy Moses in 1961 and they married in 1962, living in DC until their daughter Dina was born in 1963. They moved to Rockville and had a son, William, in 1965. Elaine and Lee were lifelong partners until Lee passed away from cancer in 2006.

Elaine loved reading, travel, good food, art, family, and friends. She loved music - especially opera. She'll be remembered for her kindness, was always ready to listen, loved to laugh, and loved learning new things. She was a strong feminist. She valued her Jewish heritage, traditions, and community.

She will be missed by her brother Larry, her daughter Dina and husband Jeff, her son William and wife Kelly, and her grandchildren Helen, Adam, Melissa, and Moose (Nic).
