On March 29, 2017. Eleanor (Ellie) was born in Boston, MA on November 19, 1925. She later moved with her family to Philadelphia, where she spent her childhood. Prior to WW II, she moved to Washington, DC where she met her husband, Martin (Marty), a Navy Seaman. Prior to getting married, she worked at the Defense Mapping Agency and attended George Washington University. After the War and marrying Marty, she worked for the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory for over 40 years, where she made friendships that lasted the rest of her life. She enjoyed gardening, painting, playing bridge and traveling the world. She loved her family and friends and had a warm spot in her heart for all animals. She spread love and kindness to all she met and will be dearly missed. Surviving her are her sons, David (Lyn) and Robert (Anne); and her adoring grandchildren, Elizabeth and Patricia; and her nieces and nephew, Shelly, Edie and Len. She was preceded in her death by her husband, Martin and loving sisters, Phyllis and Lucille. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Judean Memorial Gardens Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd., Olney, MD with interment to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or the charity of your choice.
