THORN, ELIZABETH JOAN MIRSKY, age 96, of Rockville, Maryland and New Haven, Connecticut passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014. She was the daughter of Hyman and Anna Mirsky. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy G. Allinson of Silver Spring, Maryland and her sons, Jeffrey (Sharon) of Vienna, Virginia; Robert (Irene) Allinson of California; and Arthur (Mary) Allinson, of Baltimore, MD. her sister, Helene P. Causgrove of New Haven, Connecticut, and her niece, Kathleen Causgrove Flanagan, as well as dear friend Irene (Jack) Hilbourne, of Portland, Oregon. Elizabeth Thorn was a visual artist (painted in oils) and patron of the arts, a classical music and opera lover and singer (choral singing), a skilled home maker and decorator, avid traveler, and had a sharp wit and intellect. A graveside service will be held for Elizabeth on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00PM at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, Virginia.
