Gary Mark Alpern of Bowie, MD died on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. He was born October 15, 1968 at Westover Air Force Base, MA. Beloved son of Jean Alpern; brother of Adam Alpern (Dannette) and uncle of Dylan Alpern. He was preceded in death by his father Alan S. Alpern. Survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Gary was a free-spirited, fun loving, caring and sensitive person. He was very special, easy to like and touched many hearts. He had a way with people and animals. He will be remembered by his classic phrases "don't call me honey" and "bang." He loved watching and going to sporting events especially the Orioles and Redskins. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky-Goldberg Funeral Care Chapel, 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Family will be observing Shiva on Monday, November 9 through Wednesday, November 11 at his mother's home.
