Gladys Ellen Levy, aged 88, of Rockville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born in Port Huron to the late Claude and Bella Drown, Gladys was the seventh of eight children. 

She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Arnold Levy. A devoted mother, she is survived by her children, Brenda (Howard) Hartman and Jeffrey Levy (and his late wife, Lesley). She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew (Gladys), Allen (Emily), Nicholas, Jocelyn, and Marissa, and the adoring great-grandmother of Kasen Levy. Her memory will also be treasured by her two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and her faithful dog, Chloe. 

Gladys was a woman of many passions. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially gardening and tending to her plants, and she was an exceptionally skilled crafter who loved knitting and crocheting. Above all, Gladys had a deep, lifelong love for animals, holding a very special place in her heart for her many dogs and cats over the years.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Judean Memorial Gardens, located at 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Gladys’s name to the Susan G. Komen foundation or the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer, causes that were deeply meaningful to her. Services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg funeral care.
