On Saturday, February 1, 2025, Harold Irving Morrison of Chevy Chase, MD passed away after a brief illness.

Beloved husband for 54 years of the late Janet L. Morrison; devoted father of Alan (Jennifer) Morrison, and Stacey (Mark) Grayer. The most adored Papa to Jason, Maya, Ellie and Jake. Harold was preceded in death by his parents Theodore & Hilda Morrison and sisters Eleanor Kuperman and Cynthia Krauthamer.

Originally from Boston, MA, Hal moved to Washington, DC after college. He began a career in the federal government that spanned 30 years. Hal and Janet both continued second careers of service with the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington for 20+ years. Hal loved the beach, reading a good book, a drive to the water with his close friend Helen Abrahams, a few games of chance, and a good burger or corned beef sandwich. But his greatest joy was his grandchildren - Hal never missed a dance recital, sporting event, musical performance or any opportunity to cheer on his grandkids.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2pm at Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, MD. Shiva will begin immediately following the funeral on Tuesday with minyan at 7pm at the home of Alan & Jennifer Morrison. On Wednesday at 7pm with minyan at 7:30pm at the home of Stacey & Mark Grayer. Shiva will continue at the home of Alan & Jennifer Morrison on Thursday and Saturday from 7pm - 9pm.
