Harvey Sanford Berman, of Rockville, Maryland, passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 24, 1936, he was the son of Rose and Irving Berman.

Harvey earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and devoted most of his career to Underwriters Laboratories, where he led the quality department. He was a dedicated professional, an avid tennis player, and a man known for his tenacity and good sense of humor.

Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia Berman, and his brother, Leonard Berman.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Birnbach and her husband, Tom; his son, Gary Berman; and his grandchildren, Chloe, Ben, and Max.

Harvey will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
