Howard Stanley Bayewitz

On Saturday, August 10, 2024, of Silver Spring, MD, Howard Bayewitz passed away. Beloved husband of Ellen Sue Bayewitz; devoted father of Michael Bayewitz (Abigail Schwartz) and Andrea Bayewitz; loving brother of Marsha Mendelsohn; cherished grandfather of Emma, Lila, Miranda, Molly, Ezra and Zoe. Howie was a beloved master teacher for 35 years in Kingston, NY. He was named National Social Studies Teacher of the Year in 1999 and was a two-time recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, 11 a.m. at Ohr Kodesh Congregation, 8300 Meadowbrook Ln, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 with interment to follow at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area ( parkinsonfoundation.org ) or Winter Growth ( wintergrowthinc.org ).
