Irving Martin Shnider

Irv was born in Washington, DC on March 13, 1935 and died on October 22, 2022. He was the son of Benjamin and Rose Shnider and beloved husband of Cynthia Shnider. Irv served in the Air Force and attended Benjamin Franklin University and spent a career working for the Postal Service.  He raised his family in Derwood, MD. Irv moved to Wilmington, NC in 2012 to be near his daughter and grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He was a man with charmed wit and compassion, a pure soul who loved family and life. He is survived by his children, Ivan (Debbie) Shnider and Tracy (Gary) Corle, his grandchildren, Nick and Sydney Shnider, Emily (Anthony) Ottoway, Evan and Elyssa Corle, and his brother Jack Shnider. He lived his golden years with integrity, love and courage.  He was an avid sports fan and was a lifelong supporter of the Washington Nationals, Capitals and Commanders. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, 2pm at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD 20832. Shiva will be held Thursday evening at the home of Sandy and Joel Lerner in Silver Spring, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society (cancer.org), The National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org) or The Alzheimers Association (alz.org).
