Jeffrey Rosenfeld, a proud- father, grandfather, brother and loving husband, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Wimauma, Florida. Born on March 3, 1946 in Washington, DC, Jeff was a native of the Washington, DC area, where he was a longtime resident of Olney, Maryland. Jeff is survived by his wife of 53 years Diane, his son Josh Rosenfeld, his daughter-in-law Lesley Turner, his daughter Robin Mace, his son-in-law Justin Mace, his grandsons Brody and Ryder Mace, and his sister Davida Rosenfeld.
Jeff graduated with his bachelor degree from Bradley University in 1968, where he was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity, and received his juris doctorate from Howard University in 1973. Jeff was a contracts and procurement specialist with the federal government for over 33 years, working for Health and Human Services, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Securities and Exchange Commission, Office of Personnel Management, and the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission. Jeff retired from the United States Secret Service in 2008, where he was the director of contracting and procurement.
Following his retirement, Jeff moved to Wimauma, Florida in 2009, where he was a valued member of the Valencia Lakes community, serving as the chairman of the transition advisory group, and started several community groups including the Mens' Discussion group, and the Valencia Lakes Singers. Additionally, Jeff volunteered for St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview, Florida.
With his beautiful tenor voice, Jeff was active in musical theater performances in Maryland, talent shows and showcases in Valencia Lakes and loved performing in community and religious choirs. With his wife, Jeff traveled to 40 countries on 5 continents, and 48 states. Jeff was an avid golfer, fisherman and tennis player, and a lifelong fan of the Washington Senators and Nationals, Washington's NFL teams, and the Maryland Terrapins.
Jeff will be greatly missed by family and friends for his generosity, openness to all people, expansive sense of humor, and loving heart to everyone with whom he came into contact. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2023, 10 a.m. at Judean Chapel in Olney, Maryland with interment to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens. The Family will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 1 p.m. at Beth Israel in Sun City Center, Florida.
