On Saturday January 11, 2025 Joan Helen Beller of Rockville, Maryland passed away. Joan was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 23, 1933. She married the love of her life, the late William Stern Beller, after only dating for three months. Joan and Bill were immediately convinced that they had found their partners for life. They lived in Bowie and Rockville, Maryland, Santurce, Puerto Rico, and Boynton Beach, Florida. Joan is survived by her beloved children, Nancy Beller Simms (Howard Simms), Diane Leslie Waschler (William Waschler), Stacy Beller Stryer (late Daniel Stryer).  She is also survived by her grandchildren, David Simms (Jennifer Simms), Arianne Malachi (Eliram Malachi), Dana Simms (Justin Moore), Benjamin Waschler, Kaela Green (Samuel Green), Rachael Stryer, Rebecca Stryer, her great grandchildren Wade Simms, Mackenzie Simms, Gavriel Malachi, Skylar Moore, Barel Malachi, and Lennon Moore.

While living in Bowie, Maryland Joan was a devoted member of Temple Solel, serving as president of the sisterhood, and participating as a board member for many years. She cherished her family and friends, and her two cats Tammy and Lucy. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking large family meals and serving them on a ping pong table to ensure that there was enough room for everyone. Joan's delectable and famous Carmel Poppyseed cake will lovingly be remembered at future family holiday meals.

Joan was a cherished friend to many and will be greatly missed.
