On Thursday, September 19th , 2024, JOSEPH "JOE' DATZ passed away peacefully. He was a resident of Woodbridge, Virginia. Beloved husband of Janis (Friedenberg) Datz. Devoted father of Lauren and fur baby Granite. Loving grandfather of Brittany and Niky. Joe graduated from Boston University with a BA degree in psychology. He traveled and lived in several areas in the country and then settled in Virginia. He worked at Fruit Growers Express as a manager for many years and then was a facilities manager in the healthcare industry. Prior to retirement, he was a special education intervention teacher with the Prince William County School system. He enjoyed problem solving and he was a master of household repair skills. If you gave him a toolbox, he would fix anything. He enjoyed getting to know strangers by engaging them in conversation. His pleasures were traveling, his motorcycles and wood working,  Joe was a man who loved and cared for his family. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Judean Memorial Garden, 16225 Batchellor Forest Road, Olney, Maryland.
