Jospeh D. Gelb, 86, founding partner of the Gelb and Gelb, P.C., died Monday, October 11, 2010 at an assited living in Bethesda, of natural causes.Joseph Donald Gelb was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, and served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he went to college and law school on the G.I. Bill. Mr. Gelb remained in Washington, DC, after graduation from George Washington Univeristy Law School. He open his own law office in 1954, handling a variety of cases over the span of 43 years, representing thousands of loyal clients. Mr. Gelb was proceeded in death by his wife of 40 years, Anne Gelb. He is survived by his two sons: Adam (Jeri) Gelb of Potomac, and Roger (Linda) Gelb of Bethesda, MD, and his five grandchildren.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 - 1:30 PM at The Judean Memorial Chapel 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832. Interment to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the interment at the residence of Roger and Linda Gelb. A minyan service will be held on Thursday, October 14 - 7 PM at the residence of Adam and Jeri Gelb. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Social Service Agency www.jssa.org
