Died October 12, 2018 in Rockville, Maryland. Born 1927 on the Lower East Side. Attended Stuyvesant High School and Brooklyn College, obtaining two additional masters degrees later in life. A chemist, he contributed to new products and innovations at Curtis-Wright, PerkinElmer and for 25 years at Merck. Fifty-year resident of the Bronx. Survived by his beloved wife Norma of Silver Spring, MD, his daughter Meryl Chertoff (Michael), son Robert Justin (Gina Pasieka) and two grandchildren. A reader, thinker and engaged citizen. Donations in his memory may be made to International Rescue Committee or Manna Food Center of Montgomery County, MD.
