On Friday, September 12, 2014, Leon Lederman, 98 of Rockville, MD passed away one month prior to his 99th birthday. Leon was predeceased by his first wife, Sylvia, in 1996, and his second wife, Ann, in 2013. Beloved father of Elaine (Robin) Wexler and Rochelle (Sheldon) Abelson; cherished grandfather of Shoshana Abelson-Schneider, Liza Holder, Raffi Abelson and Emily Wexler; great-grandfather of Zakai, Eli, Shamai, Reed and Hillel. A pharmacist for more than half a century, Leon was a sculptor, artist, and world traveler. Graveside service and interment will be held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. Shiva will be observed Monday, September 15, 7:30 pm at the home of Elaine and Robin Wexler. Memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or The Lions Club of the Bronx, New York.
