On Saturday, November 29, 2025, Linda VanGrack Snyder died in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the age of 79 of kidney cancer. She lived most of her life in the Washington area and raised her family in Potomac, Maryland. Beloved wife of nearly 57 years of Dr. Harry Neil Snyder, a retired Northern Virginia optometrist; devoted mother of Brad Snyder (Shelby Hunt) and Ivan Snyder (Tamara); loving sister of Steven VanGrack and the late Jeffrey VanGrack; and cherished grandmother of Elana Snyder, Maya Snyder, Lily Snyder, and Max Snyder.
A 1964 graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and a 1968 graduate of the University of Maryland, she worked as a public school teacher, freelance writer who contributed to the Washington Post and other local newspapers, reporter and editor for the Gazette Newspapers, and public relations director.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, 11 a.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St NW, Washington, DC with burial to follow at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda Snyder to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (mskcc.convio.net/goto/lindasnyder).
