Obituary

Lloyd Harrison Needle, passed away on April 6, 2023. Loving husband of Nadine Needle (nee Eisenberg); beloved father of Martin (Barbara Wachter) Needle; loving grandfather of Carli and Ryan Needle; survived by many loving cousins.

Lloyd was born in Washington, DC on August 3, 1934 to loving parents, Clara and Myer Needle. He attended the Oyster School, Alice Deal Middle School, Wilson High School, and the University of Maryland. He was very proud of his 2 years of service with the US Army. Stationed at Fort Myer in Virginia, he worked in personnel and was the youngest member of the Draft Board for the Washington, DC district. He attributed much of his success in life to the lessons he learned in the military, including leadership and organization. After working for his uncles Milton Kaplan and Sam Blanken, he founded Lloyd Construction Company, where he built numerous residential communities in the metropolitan area, including Walnut Grove, an apartment complex in Rockville, Maryland. After 11 years in business on his own, he joined Bresler & Reiner as Vice President where he focused on land development and residential construction. Lloyd's hobbies included boating, fishing, motorcycling, flying, traveling, and photography. He adored his wife Nadine, to whom he was married for almost 61 years. He was very proud of his son Martin, an attorney with the Treasury Department and his wife Barbara. The true gems of his life were his 2 grandchildren, Carli and Ryan, to whom he devoted much love and attention. He took great pride in their accomplishments and in Carli's recent engagement to Eric Lawrence. He valued his friendships with childhood friends that lasted a lifetime.
