IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lori Felicia
Karin
February 17, 1974 – December 31, 2022
Lori Felicia Karin, 48, passed away on December 31, 2022. Throughout her life, Lori was a disabled advocate, a strong supporter of civics education, an enduring athlete, and a loving friend. Some of her fondest memories involved being the Speaker of the House for youth leadership conferences and serving as President of the Cornell Model Congress. She also was proud of being selected as a two-time National Finalist of The Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution essay. While she remained a relentless disability advocate to the end, Lori retired from law after participating in the inaugural class of the U.S. Department of Labor Honors Program. Her J.D. was awarded from Georgetown University Law Center, where she graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. She also earned a Women's Studies degree from Cornell University with concentrations in Psychology, History, and Communication.
She is survived by her sister Marcy, father Steven, chosen families the Bakers and the Goldsteins, and her supportive neighbors who made her laugh and brought her joy when she lived in Montgomery County, MD, Washington, DC, Woodstock, NY, and Boyertown, PA. Her beloved Beaux, Bandit, Bella, and other pets predeceased her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lori F. Karin Patient Advocacy and Legal Services (PALS) Fund at NVRDC ( http://bit.ly/LoriFKarin ).
