Maria (Mioara) Adam, mother of Doina Adam died at home in the evening of May 31,2020; she was 98 years old. Born in Constanta, Romania, 1922, to Maria and Ion Stroe, she married Mircea after World War II. Her husband died in 1993 (age76). When she was 80 years old, she moved to Bethesda, Maryland to live with her daughter, Doina, a psychotherapist. Throughout her life, she was drawn to nature, reading, history and geography, and expressed her interests through drawing, cooking, knitting, and gardening.

Never judgements and always caring and nurturing, gentle and wise, and a strong central figure in her family. She was very loved. She is survived by her daughter, Doina and her son in-law, David, also a psychotherapist.
