OKUN, Martin L. passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. He leaves behind a wonderful family of his wife, Tracee, children, Alyson (Eric) Okun Small and Jared (Jennifer) Okun, sister Mary (late Howard) Gorden, grandchildren, who gave him such joy, Olivia, Lola, Elle, Harper, stepson, Thor (Julia) Young, and their children Kayla, Luke, and Ava, along with endless extended family members and friends. Born on January 15, 1950, the son of Florence and Sol, Marty lived his whole life in the Washington D.C. area, practicing as an orthodontist who appreciated his career, staff, and patients so much. Besides family, Marty's passions included fast cars, boating with friends on the Chesapeake, traveling, laying in the sun with Tracee, and going to Madonna concerts with Alyson and Redskins games with Jared. Marty, or as his grandchildren referred to him, "Pops", was so proud of his children. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Judean Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832 with interment to follow. Family will be observing Shiva Tuesday and Wednesday evening with Minyan at 7 p.m. at the Hayman residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenberg Bladder Cancer Institute at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
