Obituary

Martin "Marty" Gary Rochkind, life long Washingtonian, passed away on May 22, 2016. Marty was the son of Leon and Edith Rochkind and is survived by his three loving children, Jennifer Rochkind of New York, NY, Randi (Rob) Poli of Potomac, MD, Brett (Rivi) Rochkind of Palo Alto, CA and his five grandchildren, Bryn and Zachary Poli and Noa, Eli and Lia Rochkind; his brother Allen Rochkind of White Plains, NY and sister Roberta (Andrew) Seidman of White Plains, NY and former spouse and friend, Lois Wishnia of Potomac, MD. He began his career as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life and later as an independent broker. Marty was founder and President of Insurance Marketing Center (IMC), one of the largest employee benefits brokerages in the DC area. Marty was known by his family and friends as lovable, caring to others, and the life of the party. He loved baseball, the beach (so he could hear the sound of the ocean), and business. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and had the good fortune to have him play a part in their lives. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, at 11am at the Judean Chapel with burial to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, MD. Shiva will be observed at the home of Randi and Rob Poli with evening Minyan from Wednesday, May 25 to Monday, May 30.
