Dr. Phoebe Lee Bauman played many roles during her lifetime, including wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend and educator. She pursued all of these with a warm and giving heart and unbounded enthusiasm.

Phoebe's lifetime ended in the early morning of February 19, 2022.

Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family, all of whom she loved dearly and all of whom loved her in return: her husband of 64 years, Alvin; her son David and his wife Kelly Faul; her son Daniel and his wife Dawn Bauman; her daughter Deborah and her husband Rob Maytin; and Phoebe's five extraordinary grandchildren—Sydney and Jordyn Bauman, Ethan Bauman, and Hallie and Olivia Maytin. Each was blessed with Phoebe's happy nature, bright smile, discerning intelligence and, most importantly, her abundant love.

Phoebe spent the last three years and nine months of her life at Cohen Rosen House where she received exceptional care from a staff of special people who truly loved her and made Cohen Rosen House her happy place. Our family appreciates each of them.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 21, 2021, 9 a.m. at Judean Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832 with interment to follow. A memorial service will be held at the Bauman home Monday through Thursday at 7PM. The family requests donations in Phoebe's memory be made to JSSA Hospice ( jssa.org ) or Congregation Har Shalom  ( harshalom.org )
